Welcome to Bolton Art Circle

If you are uncertain about whether our Circle is what you are looking for, why not just come along to two or three of our Workshops and meet some of our artists before you commit yourself to membership.

Some people find that they would prefer a more “structured” way of developing their art; whereas our club, over the past 60 years, has developed more of a social and friendly atmosphere where artists assist each other if they want to learn a new technique. Members currently learn from each other and take advantage of the several hundred Video’s, DVD's, art magazines and books which are freely available.

If you do decide to join us, you will be welcome to all of our activities, exhibitions, demonstrations and social events.

We are a lively art club, taking an active part in the local community. We raise money for the Royal Bolton Hospital and the North West Air Ambulance. When possible, we support events at Highfield Hall Community Centre, where we hold our three Workshops each week. Some of our exhibitions are open to non-members and we attract interest from artists all over the North of England. You may bring guests to our demonstrations. Artists from other clubs and societies in the area often attend.

The basic membership subscription, ( £22 ) covers all our activities, but you will have to pay an Attendance Fee each time you attend workshops (£1.00) and demonstrations (£2.00).

Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided free of charge at all the Highfield Hall meetings. But members attending Workshops and Demonstrations are expected to take it in turns to “make a brew”.

After a while, if you stay with us, you may wish to take a more active role and help in the organising of events. Perhaps eventually you would like to become a Committee member and influence the running of Bolton Art Circle.

And finally, if you come along to one of our workshops for the first time, let someone know that it's your first visit....... They may think you are one of our 180 members who just hasn’t been for a while !
