NEWPORT STREET, BOLTON -- OUTDOOR ART EXHIBITIONS 1, 2 and 3 MAY 201027, 28, 29 and 30 AUGUST 2010Rules and Conditions for
Exhibition
1. The Exhibitions are run by "Art in
the Precinct", (AITP), a subsidiary of Bolton Art
Circle (BAC). A Management Committee (MC) of BAC is administering the
events. Application Forms may be
downloaded from this web-site, or obtained
from

2. Artists should enquire either by
telephone or by email as to the latest state of the stand bookings before
sending in an Application Form. Completed Application Forms, with
appropriate finance, must be sent
to the Secretary. 3. Stands are 12 feet long by 6
feet high Standard Site Perimeter 'Harris' Fencing. A maximum of 2 stands may be booked. Stand
costs for May, covering all three days, are:- £ 20 for one stand and £ 40 for two stands Stand
costs for August
2010, covering all four days, are:- £ 23 for one stand and £ 44 for two stands
4. Artists are free to enter
whatever work they choose, providing that it can be hung in the same
manner as a painting. Any freestanding sculptures, ceramics, etc., should
be displayed on a table supplied by the artist. However, should any work, for
whatever reason, be considered unsuitable
for the
Exhibitions by any two members of the MC, the artist will be asked to remove
it. The MC, or their representatives, have absolute discretion in this respect. 5. Under no circumstances must any
artist cause interference with or obstruction to any other artist’s
stand either with tables, easels or chairs, etc. 6. Although AITP will be
providing waterproofing, it is incumbent on each artist to ensure that
their works are kept dry. If the AITP waterproofing should fail in any way
and for any reason whatsoever, artists must then provide their own
waterproofing. Under no circumstances must any waterproofing of artist’s
works shed water onto any adjacent artist’s stand or work. Any
infringement of this will result in the offending artist being asked to
leave immediately and forfeit their stand without reimbursement. 7. Picture hanging hooks must be
provided by the artist. 8. Works may be offered for sale.
No commission will be charged. Artists should have a reserve stock to
replace works sold during the exhibition. Artists are requested, wherever
possible, to attend at their own space. 9. All works must be hung between 8.30 am and 9.30 am on the Fridays and Saturdays; and between 8.00 am
and 9.00 am on the Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays. 10. Storage facilities are not available. Nothing should be left behind at the end of each day. 11. The Exhibitions close at 5.00
pm on the Bank Holiday Mondays. 12. Artists are responsible for the
safety of their works, equipment and personal belongings. Neither AITP nor BAC can
accept any responsibility for any loss, damage or theft. Artists are
responsible for insuring all their possessions and artwork. Public
Liability Insurance exists for the stands only. 13. No Stands shall be 'sublet', though it is accepted that artists may wish to 'share' the booking of a stand. 14. There shall be no reimbursement for cancellations within three weeks of the exhibition start date. No "all day" car parking is allowed on either
the Town Hall Square or Newport Street Precinct. Secretary - Bolton Art Circle
