Roland Arthur has been Secretary since 1991, and even one year, Chairman as well. When he can find time, he likes to "paint" portraits in coloured pencil and pastel. Both his mother Edith (1905-2004) and sister, Valerie Harbird, (1934-2005) were prolific artists. His wife Pat finds time to paint in watercolour and pen and ink in between family commitments which take much of her time.
He changed roles with George Hull at the 2011 AGM, becoming Chairman (again).
Roland and Pat are also very actively involved with other Charitable organisations . They have two daughters, Denise Ruth Jackson in Tayport, Fife and Jill Bush in Dore, Sheffield, with two grandsons, Jacob and Ben. May 2005 |

Paul Titterton is our Joint Exhibitions Officer. He is 69 years old and married to Norma, the Circle's Treasurer. They have a grown up son & daughter.
Now retired, he has more time to follow other interests, including walking, and playing & listening to music (Organ, Pipe and Electronic). An interest in municipal tram and bus systems has created a niche market in acrylic and oil painting subjects for him over the last 25 years. May 2005

Margaret Shaw
was
our North West Federation of Art Societies Representative until the
2011 AGM decided to resign from membership.
Margaret had already become Publicity and PR Officer when Mary Green moved away from Bolton in the summer of 2010 Margaret joined BAC in January 2009 and undertook the role of NWFAS representative at the AGM in April. She says: “I took a water colour class on holiday in 2004 and I was hooked. I immediately bought some tubes and have painted mainly on holidays. Early retirement at the end of 2008 has given me time to take painting & drawing lessons. These, combined with frequent attendance at the BAC workshops (where members are always willing to help me), mean I’m seeing real improvements in my pictures. Some have been claimed by family & friends and are hanging in their homes. I enjoy reading and cooking and am attempting gardening (weeds & slugs hindering my efforts). My hubby and I love to holiday in Florida, usually resulting in paintings of palm trees backed by tropical sunsets. June 2009 |
| Neil Williams became a Committee Member in 2010. |
